David Starks: ABA Outstanding Stand Alone Program
SEATTLE — David Starks, Managing Partner of family law firm McKinley Irvin, received the 2012 Outstanding Stand Alone Program Award from the American Bar Association. The award is presented on behalf of the ABA Section of International Law to Starks and his peers Melissa Kucinski and Jessica Sandberg for their “International Families: Money, Children and Long Term Planning” Conference.
Starks presented at the Washington D.C. conference in June, earning the ABA award. “International Families: Money, Children and Long Term Planning” was an in–depth look at the issues developing with marriages between countries, cultures and religions. These “international families” have unique problems not found in a traditional domestic family, and the conference focused on the lawyer’s role in handling various international family matters.
“Family law is becoming more complex, and with the increasing movement of families across borders throughout the world, demand for attorneys with detailed knowledge and experience in International Family Law will continue to grow,” said Starks. “I’m thrilled to receive this award and honored to be a part of the American Bar Association. The international family law work they support is vital to a stronger world community and families all over the globe.”
Starks continues to work with McKinley Irvin and the ABA to provide valuable resources in the growing practice of International Family Law.
